ScotKart is a founding member of the National Karting Association and is one of the few operators in Scotland to pass it’s rigorous safety inspection. Independently inspected by Visit Scotland the Cambuslang Centre is rated a 5 Star Activity Centre, and Clydebank is currently 4 Star, but has recently been refurbished. ScotKart has won numerous Awards including Lanarkshire Tourism Business of the Year in 2013, and was recently a runner up in the Glasgow Business Awards. The business employs almost 60 staff including Mechanics, Marshals, Race Directors, Party Hosts and Sales team. Comprehensive training is provided in Health and Safety, First Aid, Customer Care, Food Hygiene, Kart Maintenance and Race Direction. Over the last 20+ years hundreds of young people have benefited from the training and work experience provided at the karting centres and gone on to lead successful careers. ScotKart is a privately owned family business and not a Social Enterprise funded by public money and grants. The Directors aim to support the local communities and host regular discounted charity events, give away hundreds of Gift Vouchers to Fundraising Events, and welcome disadvantaged groups. In the past a a free event was ran annually for Cash for Kids which has raised over £250,000 in total.
